The first question is how many people you want to seat. That sets the size of the shell, and the size of the space you need in the yard.
The second question is lounge or bench seating. It changes how the spa feels more than any other choice you make.
The third question is what you want it for. Soaking sore muscles asks for a different jet layout than sitting and talking with family.
The fourth question is the power at your pad. Most of these run on a 220 volt circuit, and one runs on a normal outlet.
The one people ask about
A lounge model has one long seat you can stretch out in. You lie back, almost flat, with jets down your back and legs. It is the best seat in the water for a sore back or tired legs.
That seat takes up room. A lounger uses about as much space as one more person would. So a lounge model seats fewer people than a bench model of the same size.
A bench model gives everyone the same upright seat around the edge. Nobody gets the best spot, and nobody gets the worst one. You fit more people in the same footprint, and it is easier to talk face to face.
Neither one is better. Pick the lounger if the spa is mostly for two of you and your back hurts. Pick the bench if the spa is for a full house on a Friday night.
That is normal, and it is the easiest thing to settle in person. Sizing a spa from photos is hard, even for people who do it every day.
